Divergent — Visual Space Gallery
We are pleased to announce that Seiji Kuwabara / In Element Designs will be exhibiting at Divergent, a group show at Visual Space Gallery in Vancouver alongside artists Atsuko Yoshimura and Ideet Sharon.
Four pieces will be on view: the HACO shelving unit in solid cherry — its stacked, floating drawers as much sculpture as storage — an untitled walnut slab low table with Jatoba accents, and the KIGI bench, a walnut form whose pixelated, relief-carved surface pushes furniture firmly into the territory of fine craft. Joining them is Imagination, a sculptural lamp composed of turned wood spheres in charred and natural finishes, crowned by a luminous washi paper globe — light held in balance with mass. Together, the works reflect In Element's ongoing interest in material honesty and the space between object and art.
Divergent runs May 14 to 31, 2026, Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 pm.
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 16th, 2 to 4 pm
West of Main Art Walk: Saturday May 30 & Sunday May 31, 11 am to 5 pm
